Fascinating quandary! They look like our nightstands. Mine looks a bit more like the bottom one, unfortunately (it's always loaded with books and papers, not electrical cords.
If the lower one had lots of books, I might guess yours was the bottom one. But because of the pretty lamp and a box of pink tissues, I will guess yours to be the top one.
Maybe it depends on the nature of the papers. IF they're medical, I guess Jason's to be the bottom. If they're schooling, yours... but no, I can't fathom you not being fastidiously organised. Yours is the top. There's my guess.
