Bat Girl

Victoria has always loved to be upside-down. We think she has bat genes. Notice her few hairs standing up! :)

Pooh is "driving" himself!

Oh, there is my dad. I thought I was going to have to go outside and capture a loose horse again.

The things I see from my windows!

Bad Hair Day

He is traumatized by what his parents have done. He is deciding whether to laugh or put himself up for adoption.

The Gift of Reading

Anyone who knows me, knows I love to read. I can read fast or slow, even upside-down; but when it came time to teach Colin, I was a little nervous. Would he learn to read, or will he struggle? Even if he he does learn to read, will he enjoy it? Will he read on his own? Many questions swirled in my young parenting brain.

Now, I am starting to see fruit. He learned to read a couple years ago, but he is now reading a lot on his own. He even picks up some of my books. The other day, I saw the pinnacle of the reading experience: sharing it with others so they can enjoy books, too.

I happened upon the following scene:

Reading is a gift!

Pirate...or Gypsy?

This is what comes of leaving my precious little thing in the hands of Jason for a few minutes. He turns her into a pirate/gypsy...person (notice the green thing pretending to be an earring).

Is she sneezing? I don't remember. I guess we'll never know.

Under the Piano

She likes to be under the bench (like it's her little fort). I guess it is a piano forte! If you didn't get that pun, do not be alarmed. It just means you're not a nerd.

Rifling through my music. She loves to just turn the pages.

"What?"

Jason's Birthday

Colin wanted to surprise Jason for his birthday by making him a meal. He had planned this out a month ago and kept it a secret. He wanted to make Porcupine Meatballs (mostly due to the name) and Monkey Bread (again, the name was an attraction). For dessert, he made yummy Peanut Butter Cookies that had kisses on them. He did a lot of the work and it turned out well.

Haven Faith

Congratulations to the Weadocks! Little Haven Faith is very cute. Now my little girl can have a friend for girly stuff! :)

With the mobility of Victoria and the tidiness of Jason, Colin's desk has been reclaimed for use! When we bought his bunkbed, we really liked that it had a desk on the side. We have officially "moved him in" to his desk. Colin loves to draw! Now he has a special place to do it, and his sister won't consume his "tools"!

The Big Boy bank was a gift from the Stinedorf's from our church. It is stuffed with money. Every other month, Colin pays the mortgage. Just kidding.
