There are two sides to every story...

Can you guess whose nightstand belongs to whom?

Here is the robe I made for Colin. I think I had better stick to regular clothing. The material, which is super soft, is a little weird to work with. It resulted in gigantic belt loops. Overall, it turned out and Colin loves it.

Colin's 8th Birthday Party!

Yep. I'm still playing a little catch-up. Back in January my little fella turned eight! He wanted a chocolate and strawberry cake. This one has chocolate and strawberries with sweetened cream!

We had Greek Meatballs, Wheat Rolls, and a squash casserole.

Colin had a monster theme!

A boy and his cake. Future wife, beware! You had better know how to bake!

He received tons of books. He has already read six or seven of them!

He received some fun games and toys from the Uncles!

Legos at The Henry Ford Museum!

The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn had a great lego display this past winter.

Checking out the Lego details.
I love the little Lego pigs!

We always take a picture by this train.
They also had a section dedicated to The Wizard of Oz. The kids had a lot of fun with the hands-on parts.

That is as high as Colin climbed. :)

Should we give her a license?

Ricotta and Zucchini Gnocchi

Here is my latest cookbook to review. I decided (since I had some ricotta and zucchini in the fridge) to make Gnocchi. I have been wanting to make Gnocchi at home for some time, so when I saw this recipe I went for it! I have to say, though it was messy, it was very easy. It would be a great recipe to get your kids into the kitchen!
It didn't take much in the way of tools. The tool you use the most are your hands. Just make sure you wash'em! :)
The flour, kosher salt, parmesan, ricotta, grated zucchini and an egg are formed into a dough (similar to making pasta).
Let the dough rest, then roll into thin logs. Cut them into one-inch dumplings.
Bring salted water to a violent boil, then cook them in batches until they float to the top! It only takes a couple of minutes per batch. Super simple.
Throw them in your favorite sauce! You could also saute them in some oil first for some tasty browning, or freeze some for a later use.
Yummeroonies!
