Daniel Boone Plays a Tune

I just thought it was cute to see Colin practicing with his hat on. :)

Chicken Stock

It was a day of emergencies, so I went to the store and grabbed one of those roasted chickens. I used the meat for lunch and froze some for another rainy day. I threw (gently tossed) the carcass into a stock pot with some roughly chopped celery, onions, carrots, salt, and pepper. I covered it with water and brought it to a boil.

It took all of ten minutes.

I let it simmer a couple hours.

Next, I simply strained the stock, discarded the solids, and separated it into freezable containers in 2-cup potions. It was so easy, and it's great to know you are getting the most for your money.

Ice Cream Queen

Victoria normally has a fit if the slightest drop of food gets on her face, so it was quite the thing to see her laughing through her chocolate mustache.

Vacation Finale

I finally loaded the last bit of our vacation. Our ultimate destination was in Missouri. We stayed in a lovely place. Our room alone had about five or so moose heads on the wall.
This hallway has geese flying at you. If you have zoophobia, then this is not the place for you.
It was pretty and peaceful. Below, the turtles are all hanging out together. I unfortunately became ill and we had to modify our plans, but it was still enjoyable.

Daniel Boone loves to read.

We went to a large park, and due to my not feeling well, we decided to do the two-hour tour on this tram-like vehicle. We were definitely the youngest there.

I'm glad I caught this sister-loves-brother  moment.

The tour guide stopped at this rock and wanted the kids to pose for a picture.

The tour guide also let Colin help him get the food for the bison, or buffalo-I can never remember the difference.
One of these guys is named "Elvis".

Elk, Elk everywhere!

Dressed in Her Finery

Oh my, how my little girl loves to dress-up! If t sparkles, she wants to wear it. Jason picked out this dress for Victoria and she looked so pretty in it I had to take some pictures.

Of course, she has food in her mouth.

Sous Chef

Victoria and Colin love to help me cook in the kitchen. They love food. One time, Victoria was helping me make salads. I turned my back to do something, and when I next saw her, her cheeks were stuffed with sugar snap peas! I think part of the reason why they love to help is so that they can eat the ingredients as we go.
As you can see, she is smiling with a pea peeking out!

Fall Recital

This picture is woefully late, but here are the participants of the fall recital. Colin had fun, and it's great to see the kids learning and growing.

The Great Cleansing (Fall Cleaning)

Jason has been here.

And here...
Here...
The "princess" corner.
Jason has also been here.
And here...
Where would we be without the clean-freaks of the world?
Colin's wall art stayed. I love the little men running at the bottom.

Funnies

This morning, when I went to get Colin up for the day, he had some jokes ready for me for this election day!

"Mom, what do we call Mitt Romney's Mom?" Colin asked.

"I don't know. Mrs. Romney?"

"Mitt Momney."

"Mom, what do we call Obama's Mom?"

"Hmmm."

"Omoma."

With these chuckles to lighten our hearts, we will go cast our votes today!
