I don't like to kill living things, but there is a natural order in the cycle of life. Due to modernization, this order sometimes gets confused. For example, the groundhog population is a bit out of control. If they don't get eaten by a bigger animal, they keep breeding. The numbers soon get to be too big. I'm not trying to be funny, but sometimes we have to even things out.
We have had a gazillion groundhogs, some of which have been eating our garden in spite of our efforts to simply "fence them out". They also dig holes near our house foundation that could potentially compromise our building. We keep a trap by our house and have caught two grounhogs that way. We dispose of them quickly and without torture. A third one got in our garden and refused to run. He got the shovel.
I think he died fairly quickly. As you can see, he was half-buried from the blows. We threw him into the woods so our resident fox could have a free meal. You're welcome, Mr. Fox.
I actually have a recipe for groundhog in a cookbook I have been reviewing, but alas, I do not know how to skin him and such.
The warrior at arms. It is a bit medieval, but effective when paired the laws of physics.
