Proof That She Laughs

There are those who doubt my baby girl can laugh. In all fairness, she is a serious little creature who likes to observe people; but when she's in the mood, she can really let loose!

Twofer

This is our two-for-one deal on piano lessons. Just kidding. Well, you never know what they absorb. She sat and stared. And stared. And stared. I think she likes music.

Anyway, Colin is learning a lot and enjoys his piano lessons with Sam. I extend my apologies here to Sam (who never appears in pictures). Of course, he probably won't even see this; but, just in case...

Although he would have to agree Jason got him in a professional pose.

Food Adventures of Colin

I know it may seem...odd to most of the modern world, but up until a few days ago, Colin had never eaten a bowl of cold cereal with milk. He usually is an oatmeal eater (along with eggs, pancakes, french toast etc.). Jason finally gave him a little bowl of organic fruit-o's. It went off without a hitch. He thought it was the greatest thing since...oatmeal. It probably won't be a regular thing, but it is funny that cereal is a novelty to him.

Now, as for the other things on the list he has never had that will shock the world, I think we will still defer (hint: they say it is made of beef, and they sell it at the place with the clown who has red hair).

Taking the plunge...
She is wondering how he liked it!

What's For Dinner?

Everyone has those days. The morning has come and I had forgotten to pull out the frozen "protein" for my carefully planned menu that night (I abhor thawing meat in the microwave).
After my initial, "Cindi, you need a brain transplant!" I quickly fly to my hundreds of cookbooks. Recipe after recipe looks good, but I don't have a few essential items in each one. Finally, Rachael Ray helps me out again. I like her. Her meals take 30 minutes to make, there is no fake junk in it and I know it will taste great. Well, I had some beautiful thin asparagus sitting in my fridge. This was an opportunity for Jaw-Droppingly Delicious Asparagus and Penne!
And it was just that! Dinner saved again! Pasta, asparagus, freshly grated parmesan and lemon! There were a few other things, but was so tasty and simple we didn't even miss the proteins sitting rock-solid in my freezer!

It looks boring, but it was creamy deliciousness!

Super Duper Deal!

Jason had a coupon for a free Ben and Jerry's cone, so we decided to go downtown for the evening. After consuming Chocolate Therapy (you have to try it), we went to Border's! I brought along a 33% coupon. Lo! There before us was a low, low, low priced Hooked on French set for Colin's age! It was only $9.95. With my coupon, I ended up paying $6 and something for a neat set that will prepare Colin for the French that is to come. By the way, this is $79.99 at retail price. Go down and get one for yourself!
Fantastique!

My First "Mr." Book

I loved these books as a kid. Mr. Nosey was my first one. Since then, I have aquired more and read them secretly. Which one was your favorite? Which one describes you?

I love them all!
P.S. Sorry about the Amazon click thingies.

Thomas the Train

My dad was finally able to come over and assemble Colin's Thomas the Train set that he received for Christmas. Some of the trains run on batteries and things get loaded on and off the cargo trains. He likes it a lot!

Happy Nine Month Birthday!

My baby girl is getting so big. She speaks in Raspberry Language, as well as the words mama, dada, yellow, and (we think) night-night. Still no crawling yet! I think it is her princess mentality that everything must come to her instead of her troubling herself too much. She'll do it when she's ready. She loves to eat! She is very serious about her food. So far, she eats everything without a fuss! Of course, she loves her brother!
