To celebrate Father's Day this year, Colin wrote Jason an illustrated story. It was pretty cute! The kids wanted to make something yummy, so we made these bars. They both did most of the work.
Here they appear to be working together, and they are doing just that. If I had taken a picture of the beginning of this process, it wouldn't be so peaceful looking. They both want to be the one to do everything. I'm glad they like to bake and cook, but sometimes I have to make them take turns.
Below, Victoria is performing quality-control, as we never want to feed people something that we have not tasted! :)

Mother's Day
I am so thankful for a self-less Mother! She is a great example to me as I raise my own children.
We celebrated Mother's Day at The Real Seafood Company. Since it was also Jason's 38th birthday, we received a discount on our meal. In addition, the manger (who knows my sister) brought us a platter with one of every kind of dessert they had. Free dessert! It was like Christmas in May!

A Little Over-Seasoned?
While seasoning my raw chicken for dinner one night, I became a little zealous with the chili powder. I opened the cap and made a sprinkling motion. Apparently a large stuck-together mass of chili powder jumped out and landed on my chicken.

Frankenmuth
We took a quick trip to Frankenmuth. It was fun and relaxing. We love to go through the shops and boutiques where unique hand-made items are sold. Of course, we ate at Zehnder's Restaurant. I rebelled and had a beef and horseradish sandwich instead of chicken.
Colin insisted that his photograph be taken with this butler. We are obliging parents.

Destruction and Misery
After great success in my small humble garden, destruction has come. I left the kale in all winter long, and we ate happily from its ever-growing stalks of delicious Vitamin A. Then, somebody decided to come and "lick their plate clean"!
This groundhog's days are numbered.
Below (and including the photographer) is a team dedicated to bringing down the tyranny of groundhogs in the garden .
