The Triumph of Waiting It Out

When Colin was very young, he received Curious George for a present. This particular toy laughs when you press certain parts, and has a bigger belly laugh that you can find randomly.

Colin did not want to touch him. He cried when we made him hold him.

Colin had a fear of him. George did not make him nervous. It was not that Colin did not prefer him. Colin feared him.

Note: Colin has genetically and spiritually inherited his mother's fear of everything.

Heights. Spiders. Rubber baby doll heads. Bland Food. Snakes. Strangers. The Unknown. Bad Breath. Plush Monkeys.

You name it and we've feared it.

Anyway, George went into hibernation for about three or fours years. He went in faith knowing one day someone would love him and his belly laugh.

That day came. George had his exaltation through...Victoria! She happened upon him, took him up, called him her "baby", and lovingly cradled him. He has been her "baby" ever since.
She loves him with the same vehemence with which Colin feared him.

Every baby wears diapers, right? So must George.

She buried him alive in diapers (all clean).

  1. The female is always more sensitive to the needs of others.

It's good to start-'em-young on the arts of mothers, even if the object is from a different Phylum, and in this case, a different Kingdom (since it is not living).
