Lemon Meringue Pie for the boy!

Cedar Point 2013

In May we went to Cedar Point.  We had tickets that allowed us to get in an hour earlier than most, so we got on the new ride knowing there would be a long line later. It was smooth!!

She took her rides seriously.

Colin took Victoria on several of the kiddie rides.

It turned out to be super-hot that day! Lemonade!!

The Kite That Wouldn't and the Kite That Would

Kites have come a long way since Ben Franklin. You can get all sorts of shapes and styles. We had a coupon and were excited to get this dragon kite. With our property and the usual windiness that we have here, flying a kite should be a breeze. Ahem.

The frog is wondering why anyone would want to fly.

The dragon kite wouldn't fly. He would rather sit on a hoard of gold, so we returned him to his slothful lair and bought what I call a "Ben Franklin" kite. A simple diamond shape.

Guess what? It flew! Oh, wait. That's an airplane.

It flew!

Victoria was reading her Madeline books by lantern in her nightgown. Rainy days make great book-reading opportunities!

Colin's World

LeapFrog Globe Game

Game night! This game from LeapFrog is great to teach kids geography. There are three levels of play depending on the child's ability.

Victoria is a serious gamer.

Jason is finding his geography is a little rusty.

Colin memorized the globe ahead of time.

One Small Victory

In art class, Colin is learning step-by-step drawing. I did it on the chalkboard along with him.

The top picture is by Colin, and mine is the picture on the chalkboard. I was so shocked that mine turned out so well because I just can't draw very well. Colin, on the other hand, is very good at drawing. I was so surprised his turned out so funny. :) I guess step-by-step doesn't work well for people who can actually draw!

Coloring Eggies

The kids colored Easter eggs. No, folks, there is no Easter bunny. We celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The eggs are just for fun.

Victoria needed an apron, so my Mom loaned out her retro-Minnie apron.

This is the facial expression of mischief.
