Animal Activists Should Not Read This!

I don't like to kill living things, but there is a natural order in the cycle of life. Due to modernization, this order sometimes gets confused. For example, the groundhog population is a bit out of control. If they don't get eaten by a bigger animal, they keep breeding. The numbers soon get to be too big. I'm not trying to be funny, but sometimes we have to even things out.
We have had a gazillion groundhogs, some of which have been eating our garden in spite of our efforts to simply "fence them out". They also dig holes near our house foundation that could potentially compromise our building. We keep a trap by our house and have caught two grounhogs that way. We dispose of them quickly and without torture. A third one got in our garden and refused to run. He got the shovel.
I think he died fairly quickly. As you can see, he was half-buried from the blows. We threw him into the woods so our resident fox could have a free meal. You're welcome, Mr. Fox.
I actually have a recipe for groundhog in a cookbook I have been reviewing, but alas, I do not know how to skin him and such.

The warrior at arms. It is a bit medieval, but effective when paired the laws of physics.

Calder Dairy

We met up with the Murphy Family at Calder Dairy Farm. It was a great day of fellowship, animals and ice cream!

Every week they deliver milk, eggs and other products that taste sublime!

Victoria made herself at home in their stroller. ;)
Abigail is feeding a calf. I love her hair! Abigail's hair, that is...
Cluck cluck.
What are they pointing to? We'll never know.

A Girl and Her Jewels

Victoria loves all things feminine, flowery, sparkly, twirly, and colorfully. I know that is not a word. You know that I know. ;)

The Bowl Masters

Well, not actually. John and Mike invited us along for some free bowling. I think they just wanted someone to humiliate with their 200+ scores. Show-offs. :)
Here is Jason. He does pretty well.
Here is Victoria. She had a little help, but she was very into the whole thing. She picked up her ball all by herself at times.
 Strike?
Victoria is patiently being impatient  for her turn.
There isn't a picture of me bowling because I'm not good enough to bowl and take pictures at the same time. I did get a Turkey, though!

The First Recital

Colin had his first recital at the end of May. He said he had fun and was just a little nervous. :)
Here he is waiting to go up for his turn. His song was a simple one, but it was a good experience for him to play in front of people. He loves his piano lessons!

Victoria's Party

Boy, was she excited all day long (as you can tell from the above picture).
She received some candy and stickers.

This is a banana cake with caramel frosting. It was worth every calorie.
 Blowing out the candle...
Everyone is so generous! She needs no help opening the packages. :)
"Little Miss Naughty"
This bag holds part of our gift.
The uncles are feeding her love for cars. She loves Hotwheels!
Sibling affection. Colin made her a card.
 What could be in here?
A big Hello Kitty in a princess dress!
Of course, she immediately took the clothes off.
 We put them back on.
Victoria is sporting a new nightgown that came with a matching nightgown for a doll. Victoria loved her birthday party and plays with all her new toys!

True Beauty

This was such a beautiful night that it was hard to go inside and know that it would soon be dark.

The Lord does all things well!
